- Center for the Childbearing Year: The Center for the Childbearing Year is a local (Southeast Michigan) non-profit that matches free birth doulas and postpartum doulas with low-income and high-risk women. They also maintain a referral list of doulas for hire. A doula is a trained support person for pregnant, birthing, and postpartum women. If you have no family to help after the birth of your baby, I highly recommend using a doula. To determine if you qualify for a doula at no cost, click on “Doulas Care Program.” To find a doula for hire, click on “Directory and Links.”

- Attachment Parenting International: At this site, you will find information and support for this parenting style. You’ll find the section on “Eight Principles” very informative.
